Privacy Policy
Barite — Black & White Camera. Last updated 14 August 2026.
Barite collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising
and no server. Nothing you shoot, and nothing about how you use the app, is transmitted
anywhere. There is no "we" holding your data, because none of it ever leaves your iPhone.
What stays on your device
- Your photographs. Captures are written to Barite's own folder on the
device and, with your permission, added to your photo library. You can browse that
folder yourself in the Files app.
- Location. If you grant location access, the coordinates of a shot are
written into that photo's own metadata, on the device, exactly as your iPhone's built-in
camera does it. Deny the permission and Barite keeps working; the photo simply has no
place recorded in it.
- Device motion. Barite reads the gyroscope to straighten verticals and
level the horizon while you frame, and records the camera's attitude in the photo's
metadata. It is used and stored the same way — on the device, in the file.
- Your settings. The preset, lens, format and toggles you last used are
remembered on the device so the camera opens where you left it.
Permissions Barite asks for
- Camera — to show the viewfinder and take photographs. Required.
- Photo library (add only) — to save what you shoot. Barite can add
photos; it cannot read your library.
- Location, while in use — only to record where a photo was taken, in
that photo. Optional.
- Motion & fitness — only for the gyroscope, as described above.
Optional.
Third parties
None. Barite contains no third-party SDKs, no trackers and no crash reporters. Nothing in
the app talks to the network.
Children
Barite is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. Since it collects nothing, it collects nothing
from children either.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes its folder and everything in it. Photos you chose to save to your
photo library stay there, under your control, as with any other camera app.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it.
